Internet Of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical objects—”things”—embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems via the internet. These devices range from commonplace household items to sophisticated industrial tools. Today, there are over 8 billion connected IoT devices, experts are expecting this number to grow to 22 billion by 2025

Why is IoT so important?

  • IoT has emerged as one of the most important technologies of the 21st century in recent years. Now that we can connect everyday objects to the internet via embedded devices, such as kitchen appliances, cars, thermostats, and baby monitors, seamless communication between people, processes, and things is possible.
  • Physical things can share and collect data with minimal human intervention thanks to low-cost computing, the cloud, big data, analytics, and mobile technologies.
